The IR Traffic smart is an advanced version of the IR Traffic module, which, in addition to infrared message detection (2 IR LEDs included), enables bidirectional communication with vehicles. It incorporates all the hardware features of the IR Traffic and using the enclosed IR sensor to read messages from vehicles. For instance, the module can identify the vehicle category and, through
its control output, switch the motorized 2/3-way turnout, item 8448 to regulate traffic flow. By using the IR sensor, discreetly placed on the road, the module provides precise control options. It can, for example, restrict access to the city centre for small vehicles or guide buses specifically to the bus station. Furthermore, the IR Traffic smart offers a communication interface for connectivity with other IR modules, e. g. item 8405 and the InduktivCharger, item 8408. This enables even more complex processes, including the automatic charging of vehicles. Additionally, there is an option for communication with external digital control centres through common bus systems. Suitable LEDs for this purpose are the IR LEDs, items 8442 and 8443, along with the car detectors, item 8441. Replacement for the IR sensor is item 8449.
