Description
The LoDi operator 16-SD-FL

(1k) is suitable for smaller consumers such as lamps and LEDs .

With its 16 fast outputs, it controls light signals and effects.

We recommend operation with DC voltage between 12 volts and 16 volts.

Here you will find the description, BDA and videos too.

The properties of the LoDi operator 16-SD-FL (1k)

  • DC voltage decoder for the SC bus for connection to the LoDi Shift Commander.
  • You have 16 channels, each with 150mA per output, the total sum of the connected channels must not exceed the sum of 2A.
  • You can connect light signals, LEDs, lamps, smaller motors, MP1 and MP5 and many other small consumers to the LoDi operator 16-SD-FL.
  • Easily configurable via the  LoDi ProgrammerFX .
  • In the variant LoDi-Operator 16-SD-FL 1k with integrated 1k resistor. In this way, LEDs can be connected directly to the decoder.

1. The LoDi operator 16-SD-FL (1k) and its connections

The LoDi operator 16-SD-FL (1k) is a switching decoder that is connected to the LoDi shift commander. It can be operated on the slow and fast bus.

To the connections at

LoDi operator 16-SD-FL (1k)

  • (1) Here you can connect loads such as light signals, lamps, etc., you can find more information in the connection examples.
  • (2) The AC/DC model railway transformer is connected here.
IMPORTANT! Please only use authorized model railway transformers!
  • (3) The SC bus from the LoDi Shift Commander is connected to the SC OUT and SC IN sockets. More information in the section Connection to the SC-BUS

2. LEDs on the LoDi operator 16-SD-FL (1k)

The LoDi operator 16-SD-FL (1k) has two LEDs that are intended to help you identify the status of the device and understand faults more quickly.

  • (1) This LED lights up when you connect the transformer voltage to the socket
  • (2) The Bus LED lights up as soon as the SC-BUS is plugged in from the LoDi-Shift-Commander and this is supplied with power.

3. Connection of the LoDi operator 16-SD-FL (1k) to the SC-BUS

The LoDi operator 16-SD-FL (1k) is connected to the SC bus coming from the LoDi shift commander.

You can see this in the first connection picture.

In this picture you can see the LoDi Shift Commander together with the decoder connected to it, here it is

LoDi operator 16-SD-FL (1k).

The decoder is connected to the SC bus Out 1. There are 96 outputs available here.

On the LoDi operator 16-SD-FL (1k) you can record the degrees as you need them on your system. It is not relevant here whether you first

Connect LoDi operator 16-SD-FL (1k) or a LoDi operator 4-WD-DC or AC.

The LoDi Shift Commander is able to recognize the connected decoders.

You can then use our tool LoDi-ProgrammerFX

configure.

The bus must be terminated at the last operator.

This means that you always have to insert the termination plug, called the bus terminator, into the last module.

This example shows you how to include or append the operators one after the other.

It is important that you make sure that you connect the network cables correctly. That means, for example, from in to out, as you can see in the picture.

On the last sample picture you can see a maxed out SC bus 1 and 2. The order of the modules is completely irrelevant.

You should only make sure that the LoDi Light controller is connected to bus 2.

It is important that you integrate a new LoDi SC booster into the system after every 16th module.

The bus length or the number of modules can be easily calculated.

There are 96 channels available on bus 1.

For example, you could connect 12 LoDi operators 4-WD-DC or AC here, since each module requires 8 channels.

You have 384 channels available on the slow bus. So that would be 48 LoDi operators 4-WD-AC or DC,  LoDi light controller 4-C-LED  or the  LoDi operator 16-SD-FL .

You can see that you can work very dynamically with our system.

4. Connection of the LoDi operator 16-SD-FL (1k) to the model railway transformer

The LoDi operator 16-SD-FL (1k) has 4 connection terminals.

These do not both have to be connected to the transformer, they are used to redistribute the current.

You can start the cable with one decoder and continue to distribute it to the next.

After 15 decoders, a new energy feed should take place.

This simplifies the cabling of the system.

ATTENTION do not choose cables under 0.75mm2!

Please pay attention to the correct polarity of the power pack!

5. Connecting the LoDi operator 16-SD-FL (1k) to consumers

The LoDi operator 16-SD-FL has sixteen channels, each of which can be loaded with 150mA.

LEDs with a series resistor, lamps, small motors (also MP1), magnets and much more can be used. be operated on it.

You will find 18 screw terminals on the LoDi operator 16-SD-FL (1k).

Channels 1-16 and two are marked with a +. The plus is the common return conductor of the 16 channels.

This means that each connected lamp or load must also be connected to this common return conductor.

Let's look at a simple example. We use 0.25mm2 cable for switching and black for the common return conductor and purple for switching the channels.

In this example you can see 3 lamps that are all separately connected to the decoder. This could be, for example, street lamps that may have a neon effect and should be switched on one after the other.

In the LoDi-ProgarmmerFX the 16 channels are displayed continuously.

In the decoder, the first 3 channels are occupied by lamps, these are now also placed in the programmer in the first 3 channels.

The next step is to install 3 lamps again, but these are now all 3 installed on just one channel. These lamps will then all light up together.

A normal dimmable lamp is now configured on channel 4 in the LoDi-ProgrammerFX.

Finally, you see a fully configured LoDi operator 16-SD-FL. Different consumers are now connected to this. It doesn't matter whether it's a signal, a traffic light or several lamps, the connections can all be freely configured.

6. LoDi operator 16-SD-FL 1k

The LoDi operator 16-SD-FL 1k has already integrated a 1 kiloohm resistor per output.

This means you can connect LEDs and microbulbs directly to the decoder without a series resistor.

There is a sticker "1K Integrated" on both side parts of the decoder
