Model: The locomotive has a built-in digital decoder and a sound generator for operation with mfx and DCC. The locomotive also has a motor with a bell-shaped armature and a flywheel. 4 axles powered. Traction tires. The headlights and marker lights change over with the direction of travel and have warm white LEDs. They and the cab lighting can be controlled digitally. The locomotive has a close coupler mechanism. The headlights and marker lights also change over with the direction of travel in analogue operation. The locomotive has separately applied grab irons.

The "Cottbus"
This extensively decorated locomotive symbolizes in a special paint scheme the history of the Cottbus locomotive and car maintenance facility from steam locomotive overhauling to the latest facility for the complicated maintenance of the ICEs.
Prototype: German Railroad, Inc. (DB AG) general-purpose locomotive, road number 218 497-6, in the current paint scheme for the DB Locomotive/Car Maintenance, Inc. Cottbus, with the logos of the firms Märklin and PIKO below the cab windows. Diesel-hydraulic locomotive with roof version to fit the type MTU 12V 956 TB 11 motor. Parallel exhaust hoods and a Behr cooling system in a V shape included.
