Both the type Rs 684 and type Res 686 stake cars are suitable for transporting heavy, long products from the iron and steel industry and prefabricated components, as well as wood, small iron items, semi-finished products, vehicles and other bulky and heavy goods. Both types offer a loading area of ​​18.5 m, but there are differences in the version with side flaps (only Res 686) and with folding loading boards (only Rs 684). Due to the low floor heights, containers can also be transported in both types.

Prototype: Two type Rs 684 stake cars and one type Res 686 stake car. All German Railroad, Inc. (DB AG) cars. Operating condition around 2006.
