This is our starter kit for a Helix suitable for N gauge British Outline 2nd and 3rd radius curved track (Peco) and has a track bed approx 72mm wide. It can be built either rising clockwise or anticlockwise.
Our Helix kits are laser cut from 6mm thick lightweight Poplar Ply, not MDF. Poplar ply being a lot more stable and longer lasting than other substrates. They come complete with M8 threaded rods, washers and nuts. All joints are fully supported.
Our starter kit is for the first circuit and a half rising at approx 72 mm. (allowing for 12mm starting height for initial nuts/washers and divider)
The Inner circuit based on 2nd Radius curves of 263.5 mm has a gradient of 1 in 2.41%.
The outer circuit based on 3rd Radius curves of 298.5 mm has a gradient of 1 in 2.13%.
This pack comes with the following:
12x 1/8 circle sections with engraved lines to help with track laying
12x Connecting bridges including 12x inner segment guides and 12x outer segment guides
16x M8 Steel threaded rods cut to approx length of 500mm and all required nuts and washers
Additional complete circuits are available with each circuit rising approx 40 mm (this figure can be changed to suit requirements - please call to discuss), so a starter kit + one circuit would give you a rise of 112 mm, a starter kit and two circuits would give you a rise of 152 mm and so on.
Additional 1/4 and 1/2 circuits are also available on request, please call us.
You will need a minimum level surface area of 730 mm x 730 mm to fit this helix on and basic tools to complete your helix.
