Albula articulated train AGZ
With the procurement of modern articulated trains for the Albula Railway, the RhB is continuing the renewal of its rolling stock that started with the "Allegra" multiple units. Stadler Rail originally ordered seven six-car trains. After an operational rethink, the order was changed to six seven-part, air-conditioned shuttle trains supplemented by a control car. With the crash-optimized control cars adapted to the "Allegra" trains, there is no need to reclamp and turn times can be reduced. A Ge 4/4 III or an "Allegra" always pulls uphill towards St.Moritz. Initial operational experience has been gained since the Ski World Cup in February 2017 - but still without a control car.
A seven-part composition with a Ait 578, A 570 and AB 572 and the four second-class cars B 577, B 573, B 574 and Bi 576 offers a total of 90 seats in 1st class, 217 seats in 2nd class and 13 folding seats and 4 wheelchair spaces. In addition to the classic seating, each AGZ has a family compartment with a children's play area, a leisure compartment and a photo compartment with special panorama windows.
